Sovereign Vaults: Engineering Privacy Before it was a Trend
When the pandemic hit, digital sovereignty became the top priority. How I built secure, encrypted vaults for SME data in 2020.
The global shift to remote work in 2020 exposed massive security holes in how SMEs handled sensitive data. I saw clients uploading financial documents to unsecured folders, and I knew we needed a better way. I architected the first version of the Data Vault, a secure, encrypted storage layer where every access request was logged.
This wasn't just about security; it was about trust. By giving clients a sovereign space for their data, we removed the friction of onboarding and established a baseline of technical maturity. We moved away from the chaos of 'Email Trails' and into a secure, unified 'Source of Truth'.
This 2020 project was the precursor to 'The Vault' in the modern Empower Digital site. It is proof that my commitment to client sovereignty isn't a marketing gimmick; it is a core technical principle I've been refining for years.
